Stalwart

The Guardian looks for allies who share the same sense of purpose, the same duty to those who cannot protect themselves. This archfey might have found you and allied with you. Or perhaps the Guardian saw in you great potential and lends aid to your common cause. You become a paragon of defense, using your abilities to defend the weak, the injured, and the good.

People from any ancestry might find a place in the Guardian’s service. This patron seeks out competent and capable people who share the same views on honor and responsibility. Human stalwarts might never even realize they have attracted an archfey’s attention and simply marvel over their advancing capabilities.

If desired, you can separate this path from the archfey patron. Stalwarts might come from the ranks of knights, paladins, and other noble warriors.

Level 7 Stalwart

Attributes: Increase three attributes by 1 each

Health: +12

Traditions: Protection

Spells: One expert

Languages: Any one

Guardian’s Presence (Magical): Once per round while you lack the confused, controlled, stunned, or unconscious afflictions, you can immediately reduce the damage one of your allies just took by 1d6.

Level 8 Stalwart

Health: +12

Bonus Damage: +1d6

Spells: One Expert

In the Line of Duty: When you would become confused, controlled, frightened, or stunned, you can make a luck roll. On a success, you do not gain the affliction. On a critical success, you also heal 4d6 damage.

Level 10 Stalwart

Health: +12

Spells: One master

Stalwart’s Shield (Magical): You can use an action to erect a magical shield along the edge of a Size 5 space centered on you. The shield remains for 1 hour or until you become controlled, stunned, or unconscious. Enemies outside this space who would move into it instead stop at its edge. Enemies outside the space can attack targets inside it, but attacks with natural weapons automatically fail.

You can end this effect at any time without using an action to do so. When you do, you and all allies in the space heal all damage. Once you use this talent, you lose access to it until after you rest.
