You make the target seem magical or conceal the fact that it is magical. If you choose the former, any effect that would reveal magic suggests the target has some sort of ongoing magical effect on it. 

If you choose the latter, the target ignores any effect that would reveal its magical nature or any magic affecting it. More importantly, this spell prevents any effect from ending the magic affecting the target. For example, you could cast this spell on a creature frightened (luck ends) by a magical effect and thus prevent the target from ending the affliction with a successful luck roll until this spell ends.
